Toward Synodality and Social Transformation: Lived Religion of Select Catholic Women Servant Leaders

Basic ecclesial communities (BECs) are flourishing in the Philippines. While many Filipina Catholics leading “new way of being Church,” little research has been conducted on their lived religion. Investigating servant leadership women BECs provides us with a better understanding indispensable contributions grassroots to Church and society toward synodality transformation. As response this gap, study explores concepts faith praxis among Catholic leaders (bai) Mindanao. In article, laylayan theology is used as framework, empirical phenomenology method analysis draw attention locus theologicus privilege marginalized voices bai. The reveals that select bai conceptualize personal yet ecclesial. can participate missio Dei by fostering communion engaging social addition, maintain remain relevant signs times fraternal collaboration communities, evangelizing youths, promoting sacramental attitudes. affirms have genuine freedom realize Christian identity vocations, one achieve through active participation BECs.
